(drink made with different herbs and spices, packed with many benefits.)
Table of Contents
ToggleKadha is basically an Ayurvedic drink usually made from boiling water with different herbs and spices.
The purpose of boiling spices and herbs with water is to extract their benefits which get released in water and then consumed easily. From an early age, Kadha has been prepared to cure various types of diseases. At that time, people used to choose things from the jungle and then used to make this ayurvedic drink.
Today, I am sharing a simple recipe of Kadha which can be easily made with homemade spices. I used Bay Leaf, Cinnamon stick, Green Cardamom, Black Cardamom, Peppercorns, Cloves in spices because all these spices are having a strong effect to heal the body. Also, I used Ginger and Tulsi leaves because of their medicinal properties.
This Ayurvedic drink helps in boosting up the immune system. Highly recommended in cold and cough. Also, in fever and common allergy during monsoon, this drink works like magic.
While preparing it, the point which is to remember is to add each ingredient in the required proportion only. Adding much to any particular ingredient can lead to several disadvantages.

Without any further delay, let’s look at the recipe:
Step by step instructions
- Take ginger, Tulsi leaves, green cardamom, and big cardamom in a mortar pestle.

Coarsely crush it.

Take a pan, add 2 cups of water.

Add bay leaf, cinnamon sticks, cloves in it.

- Add the crushed mixture as well.

Also, add black pepper powder. If you have peppercorns, then add 2-3 while crushing other spices.

- Turn the flame high and allow it to boil. Once it starts boiling reduce the flame to low and boil it for 10 mins. Turn off the flame. Transfer it to cup/glass. Allow it to cool down slightly.

- Kadha is ready.
