Kadha

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 small cinnamon sticks
  • 5-6 number cloves
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 big cardamom
  • 2 green cardamom
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 9-10 small tulsi leaves

Instructions
 

  • Take ginger, Tulsi leaves, green cardamom and big cardamom in a mortar pestle.
  • Coarsely crush it.
  • Take a pan, add 2 cups of water.
  • Add bay leaf, cinnamon sticks, cloves and crushed mixture in it.
  • Also, add black pepper powder. If you have peppercorns, then add 2-3 while crushing other spices.
  • Turn the flame high and allow it to boil. Once it starts boiling reduce the flame to low and boil it for 10 mins.
  • Turn off the flame. Transfer it to cup/glass. Allow it to cool down slightly.
  • Kadha is ready.

Notes

Do not use an aluminum or non-stick pan for this. Use only a steel container.
