Creamy Pasta: White Pasta: easy teasy recipe especially for kids and grown-ups.

Pasta is one of the loved dishes among kids and grown-ups.  There are many variations available for pasta like red sauce, white sauce, desi pasta, etc. And one more I am adding to this category is Creamy Pasta.

 

The story behind this innovative recipe is Once I ordered 900 gm of mayonnaise while ordering groceries. But after a few days, I realized that it is of no use rather than applying on bread slice for a sandwich. I didn’t like White Sauce Pasta much, so I thought to replace milk and cheese with the mayonnaise. I did this and from that day onwards, I prepare this every 15 days because everyone at my home loved this. So, today sharing my version of Pasta- just need to follow some simple tips for the perfect result:

 

  • Always add pasta to the boiling water, this will not allow pasta o settle down at the bottom.
  • You can add any vegetable here, I used colorful bell peppers, sweetcorn. You can opt for carrot, zucchini, spinach, etc.
  • I used tomato ketchup here just to balance the different flavors of vegetables but do not add much otherwise the resulting pasta will be too sweet.
  • After adding mayonnaise, just mix and cook for 30 seconds. Otherwise, mayonnaise starts releasing oil and spoils the flavor of the pasta.

Step by step instructions

Boiling Pasta

  • Heat water in a pan. Add 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp oil to it.
  • Put 1 cup of pasta into boiling water. Boil it for 6-7 min on low- medium flame.
  • Once done, strain boiled pasta in the strainer so the excess water will drain.

Frying Pasta

  • Heat a pan and add oil to it.
  • Add butter and allow it to melt.
  • As the butter melt, add onion, colorful bell peppers and green peas to this.
  • Mix well. Add salt.
  • Mix again and cook for 2-3 mins or till the vegetable cook 80%.
  • Check-in between for the vegetables and add the sweet corn.
  • Add black pepper powder and red chili flakes to the cooked vegetables.
  • To this, add tomato ketchup and mix well.
  • Add cooked pasta to the vegetables. Mix well.
  • At last, add mayonnaise.
  • Mix well. Cook for 30 seconds. Turn off the flame.
  • Creamy Pasta is ready to serve. Serve hot.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fusilli pasta
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper chopped
  • 1/2 red bell pepper chopped
  • 1/2 yellow bell pepper chopped
  • 1/4 cup green peas
  • 1/4 cup sweet corn
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
  • 3 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste

Notes

• Add pasta to the boiling water.
• Do not add too much ketchup otherwise pasta becomes sweet.
• After adding mayonnaise cook only for 30 seconds.
• Add vegetables of your choice.
