Atta Ladoo Recipe

Wheat Flour Ladoo: Atta Ladoo: A simple winter dish for all aged people.Easy and quick to prepare these ladoos made with whole wheat flour.

When I was a learner of dishes, I never thought to make these ladoos. Once my husband had to go for a foreign trip then I prepared it for the first time for him and he liked it so much. They really turn out delicious. And now I always had a container of these ladoos at my home for my little princess.

These ladoos are an ideal choice for their nutritional benefits especially energy boosters to new moms and weight gainers to toddlers of above 1 year.

Atta ladoo is not only beneficial during winters but also in monsoon. This heavy snack keeps you energetic the whole day. The aroma of roasted wheat flour when mixed with ghee and dry fruits enhances its taste and becomes yummylicious.

Prepared with just 4 ingredients: Whole wheat flour, desi ghee, powdered sugar, and dry fruits. You don’t require any other ingredient for this not even cardamom powder as the aroma of roasted wheat flour is too good but I am adding a pinch of cardamom powder as my husband loves the flavor of cardamom powder. You can also add gram flour or besan in combination with wheat flour for a different texture.

As wheat ladoos are very easy to prepare still I am sharing some tips for the best results:  Firstly, roast wheat flour in desi ghee on low flame but not for too long otherwise the color becomes dark which will not give a good texture. Secondly, shape ladoos when it is slightly warm otherwise you will find difficulty in binding. Lastly, for better shelf life store it in an airtight container.

Special tip: Do not drink water immediately after eating ladoo, you can drink warm milk.

If you are serving to kids of near about 1 year then grind dry fruits to make powder instead of chopped dry fruits. Do not serve more than 1 ladoo to kids in a day.
