ToggleCorn Chaat or Spicy Sweet Corn Chaat is a spicy, tangy flavored chaat made with steamed corns or with frozen sweet corn kernels. This recipe is a combination of sweet, spicy, and hot flavors of spices, corn, vegetables, and chutneys.
Basically, Chaat is the common and most popular street food in India and is served at different places all the time like in movie theatres, shopping malls, local markets, etc. Some of the famous chaat dishes are Bhel Puri, Dahi Bhalla Chaat, Dahi Papdi Chat, Cheesy Fries Chaat, etc.
Earlier, corn cobs were roasted on the grill and then eat it with salt and lemon but now some successful experiments had been conducted on corn and there are various dishes we can make like Crispy Corn, Corn Capsicum curry, Corn cutlets, etc.
Here, I am using frozen corn which I boiled in water for 5 minutes and then mixed with some veggies, spices, sauces. But if you want you can simply add spices and serve it. You can serve this dish as an evening snack or can serve as a salad/starter also.
The best thing about the chaat is you can add ingredients as per choices or as per the availability. There is no fixed ingredient except the main one. Like, in corn chaat you can skip the onion if you do not eat. In addition, you can add some paneer cubes to make it more healthy and filling, etc. Similarly, you can adjust the sauces and chutneys, if you have homemade chatni, then use it otherwise opt for the market ones.
